1. About Us
Switch My Style operates a clothing rental subscription service, allowing the customer to rent garments for a fixed rental period in exchange for a fee and a refundable security deposit.
By accessing our website, placing an order, or subscribing to our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
2. Eligibility
You must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Provide accurate personal, payment, and delivery information
- Be legally capable of entering a binding contract
We reserve the right to refuse service at our discretion.
3. Rental Model
Rental Period
Each rental period begins on the date the garments are delivered and ends on the specified return date. You are responsible for ensuring that all rented garments are handed over to our courier on or before this date.
Late returns may incur additional charges as outlined in Section 8.
4. Security Deposits
4.1 Deposit Requirement
All garments rented require a refundable security deposit. This is held to cover loss, damage, or excessive wear beyond normal use. We reserve the right to determine if the garment is damaged beyond the ability for the item to be cleaned and rehired. If we deem that the garment is damaged we will contact you the customer to advise that the damage is beyond repair and therefore we will need to claim the deposit.
If the garments are not returned within 4 weeks of the hire date, we reserve the right to claim the deposit.
4.2 Deposit Returns
Deposits are refunded once:
- All items are returned on time
- Items are assessed and deemed free from damage beyond fair wear and tear
Refunds are typically processed within 5–10 business days after inspection.
5. Use of Garments
5.1 Acceptable Use
You agree to:
- Wear garments responsibly
- Follow any care instructions provided
- Avoid alterations, repairs, or modifications
5.2 Prohibited Use
You must not:
- Please do not wash garments, we use professional cleaners who can look after cleaning the garment and avoid shrinkage, colour degradation or loss of beading etc.
- Loan the garment to another person to wear. You are responsible for ensuring the garment is maintained in excellent condition and is returned on time.
6. Fair Wear & Tear
We understand garments are meant to be worn. Fair wear and tear includes:
- Minor marks
- Light fabric stress
- Gentle fading consistent with normal use
Damage beyond fair wear and tear includes, but is not limited to:
- Rips, tears, burns
- Red wine or liquid stains.
- Handbag rubbing especially on cross body handbags.
- Heavy staining (e.g. wine, oil, makeup, faketan)
- Odours that cannot be removed
- Structural damage (zips, seams, fastenings)
7. Cleaning
We professionally clean all garments between rentals.
Do not wash, dry clean, or treat garments unless explicitly instructed. Incorrect cleaning may result in damage charges.
8. Loss, Damage & Late Fees
8.1 Damage Charges
If an item is returned damaged beyond fair wear and tear, we may:
- Deduct repair costs from your deposit
8.2 Late Returns
Please ensure you click the return button and arrange a pick up. If the parcel is not returned on time, late returns will incur:
- A weekly late fee that will be deducted from the deposit.
9. Delivery & Returns
9.1 Delivery
We endeavour to ensure delivery will be on time. Delivery timelines are estimates and not guaranteed. We are not responsible for courier delays outside our control.
9.2 Returns
You are responsible for:
- Returning all items using the provided return method
- Ensuring garments are returned neatly on hangers provided and securely packaged
- Returning items on time
- All items that are rented must be returned together, any shortage of items rented will be deducted from the deposit.
Failure to return items may result in loss of deposit.
10. Payments & Fees
All prices are shown in euro (€) and include VAT unless stated otherwise.
We reserve the right to:
- Recover unpaid fees through your deposit paid.
11. Garments that do not fit.
In each garment description, we offer a clear breakdown of the fit and size structure. Please ensure that you measure your fit carefully, following the instructions provided. However, If you are not happy with the fit when you receive the garment, you may change the size.
There will be no additional cost for hiring, however you will be responsible for all postage costs. We are able to extend the rental time by one week.
12. Intellectual Property
All website content, branding, photography, and copy remain the intellectual property of Switch My Style. You may not use or reproduce any content without permission.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses
- Our total liability is limited to the amount paid by you in the preceding 12 months
Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory consumer rights.
14. Privacy
Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and GDPR obligations. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details.
15. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Ireland, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.

DAMAGE POLICY

We believe clothing is meant to be worn and enjoyed. Our Damage Policy is designed to be fair, transparent, and proportionate, protecting both our garments and our customers.
1. Fair Wear & Tear
We fully expect signs of normal use.
Fair wear and tear includes:
- Light marks or minor fabric stress
- Gentle fading from normal wear
- Small, removable stains
- Slight loosening of buttons or stitching
You will not be charged for fair wear and tear.
2. Damage Beyond Fair Wear & Tear
Charges may apply if items are returned with damage that affects their ability to be rented again.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Rips, tears, or holes
- Burns or heat damage
- Heavy staining (wine, oil, makeup, fake tan, ink)
- Persistent odours (smoke, perfume, sweat)
- Broken zips, missing buttons, damaged seams, unravelled beading or embroidery etc.
- Fabric shrinkage or distortion, or colour staining due to improper washing
You will not be charged for fair wear and tear.
3. Cleaning & Care
We professionally clean all garments.
Please:
- Do not wash, dry clean, iron, or treat garments unless expressly instructed
- Avoid DIY stain removal
Improper cleaning that causes damage may result in charges.
4. Damage Assessment
All returned items are inspected by our team.
If damage is identified:
- We assess whether the item can be repaired
- We calculate a reasonable repair or replacement cost
- We notify you before any charge is deducted from the deposit paid.
We aim to be transparent and fair in all assessments.
5. Charges & Deposits
5.1 Repairable Damage
If an item can be repaired:
- The repair cost may be deducted from your security deposit
5.2 Irreparable Damage or Loss
If an item is lost, stolen, or deemed unrepairable:
- The applicable deposit will be forfeited.
- We will not apply any charges to your payment method.
We aim to be transparent and fair in all assessments.
6. Late Returns & Non-Returns
Late returns can prevent other customers from enjoying the service.
Late or missing items may result in:
- Daily late fees
- Forfeiture of deposit
7. Disputes
If you disagree with a damage assessment:
- Please contact us within 7 days of notification
- We will review the case and respond promptly
We aim to resolve all issues fairly and respectfully.

If you decide you want to keep the item rented permanently, please send an email with the item details, and we will then take the deposit paid on the item as full payment for the item kept.
